Is it ever right to kill another person? Their in John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men two immigrant workers, George and Lennie, were immigrant workers who stuck together to search for a job and make their American dream a reality.Unfortunatey, George had to shoot Lennie because Lennie killed Curley’s wife. George made the right decision killing Lennie for many reasons. First, Lennie would have been put in a cage. Second, Lennie would have been torrterd and then killed. The last reason is Lennie would have continued killing other living things and would have gotten into more trouble.
One reason George made the right decision shooting Lennie is that they would have put Lennie in a cage. Another person might argue that going to jail is better than death, however Lennie wouldn’t understand what jail is and so Lennie would probably panic.
Another reason George made the right decision shooting Lennie is that Curley would have torrtered Lennie and then he would have killed him. Curley said “I’m gonna shoot the guts outta that big bastaured myself.” One might argue that maybe George could have convinced Curley to change his mind, but because Curley is an irrational and aggressive character, it would have been nearly impossible to convince Curley to spare Lennie’s life.
The final reason George made the right decision shooting Lennie is because Lennie would have continued killing other living things and would have gotten into more trouble.First Lennie killed a mouse, then a puppy, and then a woman, Curley’s wife. One might argue that George would have kept an eye on Lennie, he couldn’t stop him from killing animals or even people because Lennie didn’t understand his own stregnth. Therefore, George made the right decision killing Lennie.
In John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men two migrant workers George and Lennie had a good friendship and always sticked together, not like normal migrant workers. Therefore George had to shoot Lennie to save their friendship and also making their American dream a reality.
